A supercell thunderstorm formed south of San Antonio and moved to the southeast then to the south along Highway 281 from Pleasanton to Alice. This supercell produced quarter size hail across Live Oak County, but the severe thunderstorm then intensified north of Alice. Golf ball to baseball size hail was reported in Alice, and an EF1 tornado touched down on the southeast side of town. The supercell weakened briefly before strengthening again across the southern part of Jims Well County.
