Commissioners looking for insurance on out buildings – Gonzales Inquirer: News

Troy Fire Chief Thomas Outlaw says the call came in around 3 a.m. Tuesday and responding crews found the storage shed behind the museum on fire upon arrival. The structure was made of logs and was once used as a barn, the chief said. The lumber fueled the flames but firefighters worked quickly to get it under control and extinguished.

Bomb Squad Called in for Decades-Old Howitzer Round in Storage Shed – Police & Fire – East Greenwich, RI Patch

All of the big Gonzales County buildings and equipment have been insured with the Texas Association of Counties (TAC) since 2005, but the storage sheds themselves are not insured. Bird said the hunt for insurance became so extensive that they needed to hire insurance consultant Don Gray to help find a suitable provider. He goes out and bargains with all these companies, Bird said. He tries to work out the best deals he can. Bird explained that Gray will network extensively with a variety of insurance companies while the county advertises for them, aiming to have acquired a deal before the commissioners June 18 meeting.
